Life Questions
These questions are for you to consider carefully and apply to your life. Read James 1:17-27 and think about the following:
(v18) What does it mean to you that God “chose” to create you as a “first-fruit” or “crown” of His creation?
(v21) What is the “word planted in you”?
(v22-27) Listening to the word is not enough. What must we do, and why?

- New staff! We are pleased to announce that we have appointed three new staff members:
Sue Clayden: Family Ministry Enabler,
Lois Pearce: Youth Intern (with CYFC) and
Si Hudson: Worship Intern.
Please pray for them as they begin their journey with us.
- Please note the office will be closed 21st Sept-8th Oct as Hannah will be on annual leave. Please provide any notices etc. in advance.
- Alpha Course is on Monday evenings, meeting at 6.30pm for dinner and 7.00pm for the video and discussion. We need a couple more volunteers to help cook in Oct; see Anne R.
- Drench Youth Café will return 14th Sept for school years 7-13.
- The Garden Fund pot will be counted after the Table Top Sale for Shawl Ministry THIS SUNDAY. Thank you so much for your donations!
- BOOK NOW for New Wine 2019 to take advantage of the early-bird tickets. Speak to Kathy. At Peterborough Showground, 4th-10th August 2019.

- Anne Richards’ Induction, Wednesday 3rd October at 7.30pm at St James Church, Whitley. Please sign up at the back of church if you will be attending.
- Harvest Barn Dance and Ploughman’s Supper, Saturday 6th October at 7.00pm at St James. Tickets £5 for adults, £3 for under 12’s.
- Curry and Comedy Night, Friday 12th October at 7pm at the Village Hotel, CV4 9GZ. Book BEFORE 31st Aug. Email: Tickets now available from Hannah. When you book please order: Chicken Curry & Naan Bread - OR - Vegetable Lasagne, and Chocolate Fudge Cake & Chocolate sauce - OR - Crème Caramel, cream & strawberry. This is an outreach event too, so invite friends.

Lord, thank you for all of the exciting and varied opportunities and relationships you give us in church life. Help us to make the most of them. Help us to listen to your word, to understand, and to act on what you are teaching us day by day. Thank you that you are alive in us and giving us hope and purpose daily. Amen.
