Life Questions
These questions are for you to consider carefully and apply to your life. Read Luke 3:1-6 and think about the following:
1. (v4-5) How has God acted to ‘smooth’ your way?
2. (v6) Where have you seen God’s salvation in your life?
3. When has God used you to speak His words to others?

- Advent Challenge (Deuteronomy 10:8). Carry the Ark in Advent. Each day do A Random act of Kindness. Speak a word of encouragement, give a gift, say a blessing for someone each day.
- Please help us deliver the last of the Christmas flyers so everyone in our parish is invited to our Christmas services.
- Advent Calendars and Candles are available on the card stall.
- If you would like to give a Christmas card to the congregation of St James, the blue board in the corner of the foyer has been cleared to display these.
- We will be Carol singing at The Newlands Pub on Sat 15th Dec at 10.30am. We would love as many of you as possible to join in with that!
- A huge “thank you” to everyone who gave for our Gift Days! As a congregation we have given £7410 plus Gift Aid of about £1300. This has almost wiped out our projected deficit! If you still mean to give, the baskets are at the back of church along with giving leaflets about how to give online and how to Gift Aid. Thank you for being so faithful to God’s work in this community!
- Hannah is away part of next week, so please let her know of any new notices by Tuesday 11th.
- As a registered charity, we are able to be a part of Amazon Smile. If you shop online using amazon, follow this link: and using our charity number 1180328 you are able to support St James through your purchases. It doesn’t cost you anything, but Amazon will make donations to us from each purchase you make. Thank you.
- Training Course for New Crossline Listeners: If you would like to serve the community in this hugely valuable way, the course is over 4 Saturdays starting on Sat Jan 26th 2019, 10am-4pm. See poster for details.

Father God, help us to be a warm and welcoming church to everyone who passes through our doors this Christmas. Thank you for the opportunities to minister to others over this Christmas period. Allow your Spirit to have a huge positive impact through us on those in our community that we meet, particularly in our Christmas events and as we go out to Carol sing at The Newlands. We ask you to open eyes, ears and hearts to you this year as we are willing to reap your harvest! Amen.
